Success Story

I would like to share a Kinesiology Lifestyle success story with you...

In my work, I am privileged to witness great and significant changes people make in their lives.  These sometimes do not come easily, however, they would all agree, well worth it in the end.    One man who would agree, is Darryl Beyer.  Let's meet him 18 months ago.

Before

Darryl is 44 years of age, father to 4 daughters (ranging in age 5-22yrs), 24 years married to childhood sweetheart, runs a successful building company, lives in a beautiful house (which of course he built), is overweight, suffers low self esteem and is experiencing some health problems.

The reason Darryl has come seeking help is because his world has turned upside down.  His marriage has been blown apart, and life as he knew it, is simply not the same.  The stress he is experiencing is totally overwhelming, all consuming, and he doesn't know what to do.  All Darryl wants is his wife back, his family together, and to feel happy again.

The Process

Even though the major problem presenting itself to Darryl was his marriage, this in fact was only a symptom.  The problem was that Darryl had forgotten who he was.  He was a father, a husband, a friend, a business owner, a builder, but who was Darryl??  How was he looking after him, nuturing him and helping him to grow?  The fact was Darryl had been neglected - by himself.

Now Darryl is no ordinary man.  In fact, he is an extraordinary man and he quickly realised that some changes had to be made.  He did all he could - he read, and read, and read some more;  he attended workshops;  he saw me weekly/fortnightly/monthly; he read some more; he started to ride his bike;  he enjoyed riding his bike; he loved riding his bike;  he discovered boot camp; he loved boot camp;  he met new people;  he found pleasures he had never dreamt of;  he spent more time with his youngest daughter;  he talked to his children;   he lost weight;  he learnt about health, fitness & nutrition;  he cried;  he laughed;  he smiled;  and he found life again.

The Present

Darryl today is 50kg lighter, is the owner of a very swish new Pinarello bike (I'm very jealous), healthier than he has ever been and he exerts a natural presence which only comes from feeling comfortable within.  His relationships are open, honest and without a doubt, stronger than ever, and he has learnt the most important lesson of all - to love himself.

Congratulations Darryl on the amazing changes you have made and the courage you showed throughout.  It was difficult and sometimes heart-wrenchingly painful, but I think you would agree, the person you are now and the life you now lead, is something you would never give up.  You are now happy being you!

PS  Darryl and his wife are currently dating.....
